As a data scientist, you will seek to solve the world's most challenging problems using the power of data. Data science skills are in-demand across numerous fields, from projects like building artificial intelligence systems that automatically target invasive species, or performing statistical analyses that reveal causes of coral disease.
UH Hilo offers both a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Data Science (launching Fall 2024) and a data science certificate. Both provide training in artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, and data analysis, to prepare students for high-paying careers in the field.
Faculty and Students in UH Hilo's Data Science program have worked on a variety of modern problems by applying cutting-edge techniques, in environments varying from graduate and postgraduate research to eight-week undergraduate summer programs.
UH Hilo Data Science courses are taught by interdisciplinary faculty in the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) and the College of Business and Economics (CoBE).
